Obtain an Accident Report

Before attempting to obtain a copy of a traffic collision report, please allow 3 - 5 business days from the date of the accident so the report can be submitted, processed, and approved for release.

Here are the ways to obtain a traffic collision report:

  • Submit an online request through LexisNexis BuyCrash.

  • A small fee may be charged to retrieve a report.

There is a $5 processing fee per report.

​Includes requests for arrests, crimes, and event incident reports.

Fees

All reports, except for arrest reports, cost $10, payable via check or money order payable to The City of Helen. 

Arrest reports (only page 1 can be released) cost 50 cents, payable via check or money order to The City of Helen.

 

Pick-Up

After three (3) business days, email openrecords@helenpolice.org or call 706-878-2722 option 2 to confirm if a report is ready for pick up.

A third party may pick up a report, if they have written authorization from the victim with a valid photo ID, and the required $10 fee.
